There’s a moment in every discovery call — usually right after they’ve explained they’re “thinking about getting some PR” — where I can feel it coming.
“So… how much does PR cost?”
Now, I get the question.
It’s a sensible one.
It’s just not a simple one.
Because PR isn’t a product on a shelf. It’s not a software licence. It’s not a sandwich meal deal (though goodness knows I’ve offered enough value to qualify as one).
It’s more like… tailoring.
You want a sharp look?
You could rent a tux, grab something off the peg, or book in with a master tailor who makes you look like Bond on a deadline.
Same goes for PR.
Some people need strategy, media training, story development, pitching, and ongoing momentum.
Others just need a sharp tweak and a bit of backup now and then — someone in their corner when they’re ready to make some noise.
So when people ask “how much is PR?”, what they really mean is:
“What do I need? And how do I know I’m not wasting money on fluff?”
🎥 Here’s a short video I recorded to answer that:
▶️ How much does PR actually cost?
I walk through what you’re actually paying for in PR — and why retainers aren’t the rip-off some people think they are (when done right, that is).
And yes… something new is quietly brewing behind the scenes.
It’s for the people who aren’t ready to go all-in, but know they shouldn’t go it alone.
If that sounds like you?
Stick around.
You’ll like what’s coming.
