Here’s how smart founders get seen without selling out:
If you were paying attention in class last week, you might recall that some chancer (polite term) is attempting to steal my Instagram.
To copy me.
So I have fought back.
By cloning myself.
Read on to find out why!
Most founders (and lazy good for nothing chancers who try and pilfer my profile) think they need a huge following to get media attention.
Here’s what actually gets journalists interested - even if no one knows your name (yet):
Start with a simple story: Not your entire origin tale. Just one clear, timely angle that matters to your audience and theirs.
Lead with what’s different: Journalists hear “we’re passionate about quality” daily. Lead with the unexpected, the data, the tension, or the shift.
Don’t wait to be noticed: You’re not being snubbed. You’re being silent. Proactively pitch with confidence.
Back up your expertise: Show, don’t tell. Real-world results, case studies, stats. Give them a reason to trust you.
Make it ridiculously easy to say yes: Write like you’re doing them a favour. Short, sharp, valuable. Attach nothing. Deliver everything.
Be someone they want to quote again: Helpful. Timely. No jargon. Zero fluff. Bring energy, not ego.
Use media coverage wisely: Don’t just post it once and forget it. Use it to position yourself, nurture leads, and build credibility over time.
You don’t need to be famous. You just need to be useful, relevant, and ready.
Talking of useful...
Talking io ready 24/7….
Talking of errrr….talking….
